7 Misunderstandings of CNC Precision Parts Machining

In today’s era, custom CNC machining parts processing will have some errors during the processing process, mainly the following seven errors:

1. CNC precision parts processing principle error

The principle error of CNC precision parts processing is the error caused by approximate machining motion or approximate tool contour. Because there is an error in the machining principle, it is called the machining principle error. As long as the principle error is within the allowable range, this treatment method is still feasible.

2. Geometric error of machine tools

Machine manufacturing manufacturing errors, installation errors, wear during use, etc. directly affect the machining accuracy of the workpiece. Among them are machine tool spindle rotation motion, machine tool guide rail linear motion and machine tool transmission chain errors.

3. Manufacturing error and wear of tools

Manufacturing errors, installation errors, wear, etc. during CNC machine tool processing will affect the machining accuracy of the workpiece. During the cutting process, the cutting edge, cutting surface, workpiece and chips produce strong friction, causing tool wear. When the tool wear reaches a certain value, the surface roughness value of the workpiece increases, the color and shape of the chips change, and there is vibration. Tool wear will directly affect cutting productivity, processing quality and cost.

4. Fixture error

The fixture error of CNC precision parts processing includes positioning error, clamping error, fixture installation error and tool setting error. These errors are mainly related to the manufacturing and assembly accuracy of the fixture.

The machining accuracy of CNC precision parts is not perfect, as long as the error is controlled within a certain range, it is insignificant. Tool manufacturing error and wear.

5. Positioning error

The positioning error mainly includes reference misalignment error and positioning sub-manufacturing inaccurate error. When machining a workpiece on a machine tool, several geometric elements on the workpiece must be selected as the positioning reference for machining. If the selected positioning reference and design reference are used (the reference is used to determine the surface size and position on the part drawing). If misalignment occurs, a reference misalignment error will occur. The workpiece positioning surface and the fixture positioning component together constitute a positioning pair. The positioning position is inaccurate, and the workpiece displacement caused by the matching clearance between the positioning pairs is called positioning. The manufacturing inaccuracy error.

6. Adjustment error

In every process of mechanical machining, the process system is always adjusted in one way or another. Since the adjustment cannot be accurate, adjustment errors are generated. In the process system, the relative position accuracy of the workpiece and the tool on the machine tool is ensured by adjusting the machine tool, tool, fixture or workpiece. When the original accuracy of the machine tool, tool, fixture and workpiece blank meets the process requirements without considering dynamic factors, the adjustment error plays a decisive role in the processing error.

7. Measurement error

When measuring during the CNC precision parts processing or after CNC processing, the measurement accuracy is directly affected by the measurement method, measuring tool accuracy, workpiece and subjective and objective factors.

The above seven CNC precision parts processing errors can be avoided to a certain extent, so the operators who need to perform CNC processing can test the seven processing processes that are prone to processing errors more carefully and carefully during the processing. After the mechanical processing operation, the influence of the processing error can be better reduced.
