What is wire drawing?

Selection of wire drawing equipment
Wire drawing of aluminum profile surface is done by wire drawing machine. For small flat workpieces, flat pressure abrasive belt wire drawing machine can be used. This wire drawing method can be processed into rough and obvious silk patterns with coarse grain abrasive belt according to the surface requirements of the product, or fine grain abrasive belt can be used to process fine silk patterns. For small workpieces, a simpler structure of rubbing machine can also be used. The thickness of the silk can also be controlled according to the coarseness of the grinding block. For large workpieces or plates, roller brush wire drawing or wide abrasive belt wire drawing can also be used.
Suitable aluminum materials:
1××× series pure aluminum plate: Common codes for pure aluminum plate series are 1050, 1060, 和 1100. Among all aluminum plate series, pure aluminum plate series is the one with the highest aluminum content. The purity can reach more than 99.00%. Since it does not contain other technical elements, the production process is relatively simple and the price is relatively cheap. It is the most commonly used series in conventional industries. Most of the 1050 和 1060 series are circulating on the market.
2××× series alloy aluminum plate: represents 2A16 (LY16) and 2A06 (LY6). The characteristics of 2××× series aluminum plates are high hardness, among which the copper content is the highest, about 3-5%. 2××× series aluminum plates belong to aviation aluminum materials and are not often used in conventional industries.
3××× series alloy aluminum plates: mainly represented by 3003 aluminum plates, 3004 aluminum plates, and 3A21 aluminum plates. 3××× series aluminum plate is mainly composed of manganese, with a content of 1.0-1.5%. It is a series with good anti-rust function. It is generally used in humid environments such as air conditioners, refrigerators, and car bottoms. The price is higher than the 1××× series. It is a more commonly used alloy series.
4××× series alloy aluminum plate: represented by 4A01. It belongs to a series with a high silicon content. Usually the silicon content is between 4.5-6.0%. It belongs to building materials, mechanical parts, forging materials, and welding materials; low melting point, good corrosion resistance.
5××× series alloy aluminum plate: represented by 5052 aluminum plate, 5005 aluminum plate, 5083 aluminum plate, and 5A05 aluminum plate series. 5××× series aluminum plate belongs to the more commonly used alloy aluminum plate series, with magnesium as the main element and a magnesium content of 3-5%. It can also be called aluminum-magnesium alloy. The main features are low density, high tensile strength, and high elongation. The weight of aluminum-magnesium alloy is lower than other series under the same area. 所以, it is often used in aviation, such as aircraft fuel tanks. It mainly contains magnesium and silicon, so it concentrates the advantages of 4××× series and 5××× series. 6061 is a cold-treated aluminum forging product suitable for applications with high requirements for corrosion resistance and oxidation resistance. It has good usability, excellent interface characteristics, easy coating, and good processability. It can be used on low-pressure weapons and aircraft joints.
7××× series alloy aluminum plate: represents 7075. It mainly contains zinc. It also belongs to the aviation series. It is an aluminum-magnesium-zinc-copper alloy, a heat-treatable alloy, a super-hard aluminum alloy, and has good wear resistance. 这 7075 aluminum plate is stress-eliminated and will not deform or warp after processing.
